Believe it or not, this was recorded and mixed entirely in the Boss Micro BR. It was then mastered using the Har-Bal mastering process. Har-Bal is the EQ filter.
I then used Wavelab, with 4 Waves plug-ins in this order: 1-Waves 10 band parametric EQ, the S-1 stereo imager, and the LinMB compressor. After processing, you use the Global Analysis to gage how much limiting it needs to bring it the commercial level of -10 to -9db.
It would take up too much space here to describe the details of Har-Bal. I can e-mail an attachment with the tutorial if you would like. I've used this process on several projects for myself as well as other clients with no complaints so far.
HOWEVER, I ALWAYS recommend that they send the finished mixes to a PROFESSIONAL Mastering house. I can do a decent job, but I am NOT a Mastering engineer, and don't pretend to be or claim that I can do the job any where near as well as they do. I do it for myself because of finances.
If I were going to do a commercial release through a record co, I would send my own music out to a pro. As I tell all my clients, why skimp on the last and possibly most important step in the process?
