A & R

Our A&R department occasionally features music from our website visitors. Our visitors are invited to write a commentary about how their music was made. Sometimes their spelling isn't all that good.

I use a Pro-Tools 003-factory mixing surface. I run it on a Windows Vista system, I do this because I can, and others cannot- hey I am an engineer, right?

OK, so I use varios mics for my vocals Rode, Sterling, Shure, None of them are the top of the line none are crap either. My music is a mix between Samples that I have collected over the years to recorded music that I make here in my studio,

I am using a Triton 61- Kurzweil pc-88, MPC-4000 a SET OF Turntables and pro tools 001 on an xp system as syntht with some other synth software as well. I at times will have 40 -50 tracks for one song 30 of them are differnt vocal tracks, People ask me why so many? Because I can...of course from an engineering stand point I am never going to use all of them,But I can if i want to. I mix my music first so when I ad my vocals I am only mixing my vocals.

I do my final takes after all the background vocals have been mixed because I like to hear the song the way I hear the song.

Isn't life grand? I dreamt of a studio like this when i was a small boy, Elvis wa my hero and he didn't have anything this nice, I am constantly creating and I will never use a fraction of what I have.
